Compliance Management at Aerodromes
According to aerodrome regulations (ICAO, EASA, or others) one of the aims of a management system is to ensure compliance with all relevant and applicable legal requirements, technical rules and procedures. Ensuring compliance with the requirements for aerodrome design, organisational factors, operations, and approved procedures, programmes and plans, is a key element of maintaining high safety levels.
Effective compliance assurance relies on a formal process of compliance monitoring which depends on detailed audit planning, audit programming and audit scheduling. Like the conduction of audits and inspections, a lot of compliance monitoring is undertaken on a continuous and daily basis through observations of operational and safety performance, and different feedback channels.
Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) inspectors will focus on the output of operators’ own audits to judge the effectiveness of their management system and the quantity and quality of resources.
This 2-day course is based on the most recent aerodrome regulations and world’s best practices on compliance management. The course is customised to its audience, location and applicable regulatory framework, i.e. EASA for European sessions, and ICAO – or national implementation – for international sessions. It will provide attendees with a broad and deep understanding of both the principles and the practical application of compliance monitoring and compliance management. Specifically, the course will focus on building audit programmes and designing checklists and questionnaires to ensure compliance is maintained within the organisation and operation. Participants will also get an understanding of how compliance monitoring itself can be – independently – monitored.
The course will allow for a comprehensive exchange on compliance monitoring with experts from around the world.
Use will be made of samples and examples, and attendees will be invited to participate in discussing case studies, or to offer their own cases for discussion.
