Aeronautical Data Management for Aerodromes
Managing aeronautical data is one of the many tasks of an airport operator. With EU Regulation 139/2014 and the introduced updates of EU Reg. 2148, 373 and 1645, the regulatory framework has become more complex and detailed.
This course's objective is to provide participants with a clear understanding of what aeronautical data means and how it should be managed from the aerodrome operator's point of view. The course will be delivered in 3 days as follow:
Over the two training days:
The full data management process will be explained, from the originator to the transmission to the AIS provider.
Regulatory requirements and practical solutions to ensure data quality in compliance with international and national standards will be examined in detail.
Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of the AIS service, with a focus on its main products and the different end users who rely on aeronautical data for various operational purposes
The third day is dedicated to an immersive simulator experience, allowing participants to move beyond theory and see how aeronautical data directly support flight operations. By stepping into a realistic operational environment, participants will follow the journey of aeronautical information from its origination at the aerodrome to its use by pilots and air traffic controllers during flight preparation and execution. The session highlights how airport infrastructure data, obstacles, visual aids, aerodrome charts, NOTAMs and AIP publications influence operational decisions and overall flight safety. Through practical scenarios and real-world examples, participants will develop a unique appreciation of the value of data quality, integrity and timely information exchange, reinforcing the importance of effective aeronautical data management within the aerodrome environment.

Roberto Ghidini
Mr. Roberto Ghidini is a senior aviation professional with extensive experience in air traffic control, airspace and procedure design, aerodrome planning, and ATM/ANS regulation.
A former Air Traffic Control Officer and On-the-Job Training Instructor, he combines hands-on operational expertise with a strong strategic perspective developed through senior roles with ENAV, Dubai Air Navigation Services, EASA, SESAR Joint Undertaking, and EUROCONTROL.
His areas of expertise include airspace management, Performance-Based Navigation (PBN), ATM innovation, safety and regulatory oversight, UTM, and the operational deployment of digital aviation technologies. At airsight, Roberto supports high-level training courses in Aeronautical Data Management, PANS-OPS, and ATM, and acts as a strategic consultant on R&D projects focusing on the regulatory impact of innovation on airports, ATM and UTM environments, and drones.

Trainer
Daniele Occhiato
Daniele is a trainer with over 12 years of experience in the aviation industry.
He holds a degree in aerospace engineering and a master's degree in Aviation Safety. In 2020 he joined airsight's team in the safety & operations department, as a project engineer and auditor, using his experience in airport operations, apron management service, ground handling, Safety Management System, airport emergency plans, auditing and compliance management. Since 2024 he is Director of airsight Italy S.r.l.
Daniele has held positions in the airport sector as a certification figure and has an excellent knowledge of regulations (ICAO/EASA), international best practices and their implementation in the airport environment.
In airsight, he contributes to the analysis of risks related to major upgrading works, revision of airport contingency plans and compliance audits in the international context.
