Helicopter Operator Audit (Supplier Audit)
Contact Consulting Department
airsight was commissioned to conduct a comprehensive operational and technical audit for a European offshore helicopter operator. Our experts conducted the audit as a supplier audit on behalf of a client of the helicopter operator to verify the compliance with the service level agreement between the two parties. Furthermore, the audit aimed to assess the operator's compliance with key regulations and guidelines, prioritizing safety and operational efficiency.
The audit scope covered critical regulatory frameworks, including Reg. (EU) No 965/2012 and Reg. (EU) No 1321/2014. Specifically, it focused on Annex I (Part M), Annex II (Part-145), and Annex Vc (Part-CAMO) of these regulations, ensuring the operator's adherence to airworthiness requirements, maintenance procedures, and the approval of organizations and personnel involved. Additionally, the IOGP Offshore Helicopter Recommended Practices to guide operations in the challenging offshore environment were considered.
To conduct a thorough evaluation, our audit team performed an on-site visit to the operator's primary operating site. This allowed the auditors to closely examine the facilities, infrastructure, helicopters, and day-to-day operations, gaining valuable insights into the safety protocols.
The primary objective of the audit was to verify compliance with the service level agreement between the client and the helicopter operator and to provide our client with an external and independent feedback on the safety and quality performance of the helicopter operator. Through close collaboration with the client and the helicopter operator, airsight provided recommendations and guidance to enhance safety standards, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
The audit was documented in form of an audit report which highlights findings, observations as well as recommendations and positive items. The audit report will also serve as evidence for Civil Aviation Authorities as part of the operator’s compliance management system.
Throughout the audit, the audit team maintained open lines of communication with the operator, fostering a collaborative approach to address identified areas of improvement.
In conclusion, both our client and the helicopter operator were very pleased with the objective and valuable results of the audit conducted by airsight. The results have been used to improve safety and quality in operations.
