Aircraft noise modelling and environmental assessments at airports

airsight demonstrates its competences in the field of aircraft noise and emission modeling within the scope of various projects, e.g. in the following areas
- determination of noise and fuel-related effects within the scope of feasibility studies as well as flight procedure design,
- calculation and mapping of noise protection areas in accordance with the German Aircraft Noise Act (AzB, AzD)
- analysis of radar data (SSR/Mode-S/ADS-B) as input for noise and emission calculation (in-house development).
The results of airsight studies have been used in a number of authority planning approval and spatial planning procedures. The team therefore has relevant experience in participating in discussion and negotiation meetings accompanying the proceedings as well as in presenting and communicating the results to the public.
Furthermore, airsight provides its in-depth knowledge and project experience in the training course Aircraft Noise and Environmental Protection at Airports. The objective of this course is to provide a high-level understanding of climate change, aircraft noise, engine emissions and related environmental protection measures. To this end, topics will be covered such as: Technical and physical basics, legal framework in international & European context, aircraft noise and emission certification, environmental impacts of aircraft operations, health effects, monitoring and control systems, modeling and simulation techniques, environmental assessment methods, and active and passive mitigation strategies.
