Aeronautical Study for new Air Traffic Control Tower at Dublin International Airport
Irish Aviation Authority
On behalf of the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), airsight was commissioned to analyse the potential impact on safety and aerodrome operations of this new 87m high control tower together with the crane required during construction.
This safety assessment (or aeronautical study) was aligned to the principles and requirements defined by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as well as European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). After a thorough analysis of the risks, airsight proposed different mitigating measures (e.g. adaptation of operating minima or flight procedures) to ensure that there is no significant impact on the safety of aircraft operations induced by the new ATC tower and the crane during construction.
