Compliance Monitoring System Audit for European Airports
Contact Consulting Department
Airport operators across Europe within the scope of regulation (EU) 139/2014 need to foresee a formal process to monitor compliance of the organisation with the relevant requirements. At the same time, the independence of the compliance monitoring needs to be ensured, meaning, that the compliance function cannot audit itself (AMC1 ADR.OR.D.005(b)(11) (b)(2)).
airsight offers independent and external audits of all kinds of airport requirements and amongst others is specialised in management system audits, including compliance monitoring systems.
The purpose of such an independent audit is to comply with the European rules for airport management systems and to cater for continuous improvement.
Typically, in the first step airsight will perform a desktop audit using all provided client’s documentation (Aerodrome Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, Records) to have a basic system understanding and collect initial items to be verified in the second step – the on-site audit. The second step comprises an on-site presence of airsight-auditors verifying initial observations from the desktop audit and deep-diving into the client’s compliance monitoring system. For this purpose, airsight auditors use standardised checklists and templates which are used for the initial documentation. Subsequently, the client will be provided with a comprehensive audit report which may be used as evidence towards the competent authority.
During the project and the preparation phase of the on-site audit, airsight will compile the respective audit plans and propose relevant auditees in close coordination with the client.
Airport operators benefit in multiple ways from an airsight audit: an independent assessment of the compliance monitoring function, airsight’s- large network and the extensive experience in the field of compliance management only being some of them.
